Compotex offers dipped textiles for many different specialist rubber compounds.
Solvent dipping has traditionally been used for the adhesion of fabrics to specialist rubbers like FKM, AEM, ACM, CSM, Polybutadiene, Polybutyl and more.
Compotex offers water based dipped fabric for these compounds. We also offer small quantity dipping which can be critical in getting these new developments into production. Compotex normally requires a minimum of just 10 metres of fabric to get things started.
Compotex holds stock of a range of fabrics so we often do the development with these stock fabrics. This is particularly true of our range of nylon fabrics. However, our customers can also supply their fabric for commission dipping.
To get a development started, we ask our customer to provide us with some of their calendered rubber sheet. We then carry out adhesion testing with our formulations to discover the adhesion we can achieve and the specification that we recommend.

A company approached us because they wanted to improve their adhesion to polybutyl rubber.
We asked that they send us some of their rubber compound. We tried out a couple of our specifications with a nylon fabric that we hold in stock. One formulation worked very well.
We sent lab samples to the customer for their testing. Their results confirmed the Compotex adhesion results.
The next stage was to ask for a small order so that the company could carry out full production trials over many months. The first order was received and the company started an extensive programme of making new parts and testing the new finished product with their customers.
